It was about a semester when I posted something in my blog. Just this night, I get online to see some new things in Facebook and in my forums in Skyscrapercity. I chatted my sister Kim to talk about my other sister Karen who is in the hospital because of High-Blood Pressure. Kim told me that today is a Blog Action Day 2009. Then I told her what is it all about and she said that it is all about bloggers around the world will share opinions about an issue of global importance. Climate Change is this year's topic. I think I can impart to you some things regarding of this year's topic.

I am a Marine Biology Student in Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology. I already spent 5 and a half years in college which informs that I'm not a good student. With this year's topic, Climate Change, I can share to all of you of the things I learned in school.

Just this week, I made an article regarding to the relationship of the recent flooding in NCR, Philippines with the climate change. The article is my best friend's homework and I think I can make it for her because I can share more thoughts about climatic changes than her because her major is Computer Engineering.

The article goes like this...

The Philippines is located at the northern hemisphere of the western part of the Pacific Ocean. Our country is the route of the North Equatorial Currents coming from the east coast of Northern Americas. The North America is a temperate region. It experiences heavy ice storms, avalanche and thick ice formations.

The increase of CO₂ concentration in the atmosphere would trap light waves coming from the sun thus the reason why climatic change is being experienced. The excessive use of CFC’s would react to the ozone layer and this leads to its reduction. The “An Inconvenient Truth” stated that the ozone is the most vulnerable part of the Earth’s ecosystem. Upon the thinning of the layer, there would be too much light waves that are penetrating the Earth’s atmosphere. Then not all the light waves are reflected back to the space because the CO₂’s are trapping them.

In relation with the location of the Philippines, it is mentioned earlier that it is the route of the Ocean Currents coming from the East of Pacific Ocean. The heavy ice formations of the North America would be evaporated faster because of the climatic changes. Then the evaporated water from the eastern part of the Pacific Ocean is carried to the western part through the Ocean Currents. It also mentioned in the documentary that the current velocity would speeds up as the temperature increases. The Philippines is one of the countries that is greatly affected with the heavy precipitation of the currents that form heavy monsoon rains.

Pepeng and Ondoy are some examples of the wind currents that formed heavy monsoon rains resulting to heavy floods in the National Capital Region of the country. It is very painful that us humans are one of the major contributors of these changes. There are so many things to recover but there will be much more to achieve.

I think it's time for us to share what we know about the environment. I think that only few of the world is very aware of what is really the meaning of Global Warming and its causes and effects. I am very overwhelmed that I have imparted my knowledge regarding to climate changes through this blog and through the Blog Action Day 09 website. I'm here back in Iligan City and I guess everything is back to normal. I have to do best for my education this time to finish on March 2010. I have a lot of things to recover. I need enough time to bring everything back to normal. Seems like some people don't trust me anymore and I have to gain their trust back. I was a good person, but time lapsed I changed a lot. But one thing is for sure, I am still the old me! Its just that there are some little changes.

I woke up late yesterday. I was surprised that the daughter of my Godmother handed me a simple gift. She reminded me that yesterday is Valentines Day. So, I gave her a hug and kiss as my gift to her. We brought the bread and cheese upstairs to have our brunch. We had some little talks and we made a video (the video is already posted on my blog, just do some little browsing) while making our cute sandwiches. My last piece of sandwich has a shape of heart.

I am studying in a small city in Northern Mindanao. This city is dominated with Christians and Muslims. They said that the city is dangerous but I guess they were all wrong. Even though we experienced threats, the city is still a good place to live. I don't know why the media are focusing on the bad side. I hope that they will focus the good side as well. Try to visit my University, you can see Christians and Muslims interacting with each other. We are at PEACE!

I was really surprised when I saw The Terraces in person and it is more surprising at night. Lights are everywhere and the people are everywhere. I was wondering if The Philippines is greatly affected with the global crisis coz there are still a lot of people inside the malls having a break of coffee. You can still see a number of people carry their shopping bags and other stuff. They can still manage their living. Very ironic coz first world countries are greatly affected. Or maybe, some Filipinos are just pretending that they're not affected.

Last Saturday we went to Bucana (a beach resort here in Iligan City, Philippines) to celebrate the birthday of my boardmate. The water is brown and the waves are so big. Last year, i enrolled in Marine Ecology then we worked hard but at the end of the semester our teacher gave us an incomplete grade. She gave an incomplete grade (it means that we failed to submit some requirements) for the whole class. Actually there are only 7 of us in the class. We have one year to complete our grades. Then, a semester later our teacher told us that we our going to conduct a study on water analysis somewhere in Iligan City. We were shocked coz actually the requirement we missed is the hard copy of papers of the activities we did in the marine ecology subject. We don't have water analysis activity in the marine ecology subject. We don't have choice but to do of what our teacher requires for us to get a grade. The analysis of water includes bacterial analysis, the most probable number, nitrates, nitrites and phosphates. The nutrient analysis is so expensive as well as the bacterial analysis. The good thing is that the study is good for the class. So, there are 7 of us who allotted the payment for the analysis. Until now we are doing the papers for the analysis. Actually, last friday is the deadline for the paper.

My first Starbucks Frap!

I went to cebu last month and my sister treated a frap. It's my first to be in Starbucks so I felt a bit excited. Then she ordered frap. One for and one for me. It feels good to be in SB. The ambiance is quiet and cool. I took pictures using my new camera and of course its my first in SB, I took the chance to capture more pictures. I remember my english teacher telling some stories about luxuries and etc. She mentioned about SB and she said "their coffee is good but when you pour it to another cup, it won't SB anymore". I didn't comment on what she said but I guess she has the point. Any coffee in this world has its own style. It depends on the store on how they make it and on how they mix with other ingredients.

We are living near the old Airport of Davao City. Before, the ambiance is cool and green. Years later, they decided to construct a new Airport which is an International Airport and it is located across the Old Airport. So, they closed the old airport and some businesses are shutdown due to poor sales. Some lots are sold to shipping companies. These companies are distracting commuters. They brought noise pollution as well as air and soil. The ambiance now is very different compared before.I hope the government would have a movement regarding with this matter. The residents are greatly affected.

As you can see, the trucks are parked along the way.

I just woke up and I see the sky is entirely covered with clouds. I hope that the will sun will shine today. Like yesterday, I wasn't expecting that it rained so hard. My other friends were affected with the heavy rain. Water level was starting to increase and the rain was still pouring. Don't you believe that Jurassic still exists? My friend from Cebu visited Iligan City, then we went to see Maria Cristina Falls to see its beauty. Along the way, I observed this weird-looking tree. Adding its weirdness is the view of the plants infront of it. It's like you are in the movie Jurassic park. The tree has plants hanging on it which also contributed to look similar to the trees that are living during the Jurassic. Seems like the Jurassic is at present.

I wasn't expecting that I will end up loving my friend. I have shared everything to him about what I feel. The best thing is that he didn't left but he stayed as friend. He listens when I talk. Last December 2008, I texted my friend Riva a belated Christmas Greeting then she replied that were going to have a high school batch reunion. I was never expecting that she is going to invite me coz in the first place I wasn't able to finish in that school for some reasons. I really had a great time with my family during my semestral break. I was so excited to see them. I was hoping that four of us were going to meet for that break. My sister who works in Singapore arrived the same day I arrived home. My other sister who works in Cebu missed the happenings. She was sent in the US for company trainings. So the plans that we would be all together was changed. My eldest sister will not be able to be with us for the break. I had a great time spending with my sister and mom. It's like everyday has a party. I sleep late at night or maybe early in the morning. We spent the Halloween on my fathers grave. We have this tradition in the Philippines that during Halloween, All Saints day or All Souls Day are days for visiting cemeteries and do overnight.

I really had a great time with my sister and mom last semestral break.

Last summer (2007), I took up History of Filipino Muslims and the Indigenous People of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan: We were asked to make a photo album as our final requirement. Whoever can make the best one will be exempted for the final exam. There were 4 members in each group. But unfortunately, one of our member backed out. He doesn't like our group coz he said that we were lazy.

We tried looking for some pictures in the net but I wasn't satisfied then. There were about 4 pictures available in the net. As far as my creations and ideas are concerned. I came up with the idea that the members of the group will portray the assigned Indigenous and Muslim Group. By the way, Sangil (Muslim group) and Higaonon (Lumad) were assigned to us. Due to some shortage of resources. We used used clothing, malong and some house decors for our costumes. As you can see the picture, I was wearing malong, some used clothes on my head and holding a house decor (fan). And then we used sepia as the effect of the picture. You know what, we used camera phone since we don't have digicams. We were very happy when we found out that we gained the highest score in the class.

I wasn't expecting that my ideas were so productive. I hope my ideas will stay.

Oh my... I checked my friendster account coz I'm going to do something about it. I opened my friend's account and posted a comment. After a while, I forgot what am I supposed to do with my account. I'm suppose to do something and I forgot that something. What is happening to me. When I returned back in my homepage, I saw my friends' profile updates. And there I saw this profile update posted "...come into my sleeves.." as his shoutout. Then there I've realized that "that something" is shoutout. Thanks Kevin (the name of my friend posted ""...come into my sleeves..." as his shout out), I have changed my shoutout now. Thanks for being there. LOL...

It's been a long time since a posted my last blog. I left this blog for about 2 years... That's quite a long time. Just an hour ago, I read some articles in the internet. And while reading some articles, I clicked a site which is a very updated blog... And for that, I was reminded about the blog made by my sister. Then, as i was scanning some pages of her blog I saw a link that directs to my own blog. I clicked it, there you have it. The link brought me in my own blog.
Its like 10 times I tried to figure out the username and the password. I opened my yahoo email which is really a great help to look for the right username and password for my blog. And there you have it, and it's about time for me to update my blog.

I think having marine life is really designed for me. When I was a kid, I kept on asking my eldest sister if there is a course related to fishes. I'm very close to fishes since then. There's one time when my eldest sister kill all the my poor goldfishes. She is so damn stupid to feed them an algae-like plant without thinking that they're moss. Moss from our backyard. Stupidity right? Whatever! But that sister who told me that there is a marine biology course.

I started studying in University of San Carlos as marine biology student but unfortunately I transferred to Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology with the same course. I was about to give up my course but then Im still a marine biology student until now.

I always believe that there is something in there that we haven't seen yet.
